Terms and conditions

1. Who we are

These terms are between you and Key to Learn Ltd, a company registered in Ireland (“we”, “us”, “the academy”). By creating an account or buying classes you accept these terms.

2. Accounts

• You must be 18 or over to create an account. A parent or guardian creates and holds the account for a student under 18.
• The details you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to your account.
• We may suspend an account that is used to abuse the service, our staff or other students.

3. Buying classes

• Classes are sold in packs. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay, in euro, including any applicable VAT.
• Payment is taken at the time of purchase through Stripe. Your classes are added to your account as soon as the payment is confirmed.
• Unless the pack says otherwise, classes remain valid for six months from the date of purchase. Classes not used within that period expire.
• Prices may change, but a change never affects classes you have already bought.

4. Booking, cancelling and missed classes

• You book individual classes from your account, subject to availability. Group sizes are capped, so a class may be full.
• You may cancel a booked class up to 24 hours before it starts, and the class returns to your balance automatically.
• A class cancelled less than 24 hours beforehand, or missed without notice, is treated as taken. This is what allows us to keep groups small and teachers paid.
• If we cancel a class, it always returns to your balance in full, and we will offer you an alternative time.

5. Right of withdrawal and refunds

Under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013, you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase.

• You may cancel an unused class pack within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
• If you have already attended a class in that period, we refund the balance of the pack, less the classes taken at the single-class rate. You accept this by booking a class within the 14-day period.
• After 14 days, packs are non-refundable, but unused classes remain valid for the full six months.
• Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 days of us agreeing them.

6. Delivering the classes

• Classes run online or in person, as stated on the course page.
• For online classes you need a device with a camera, a microphone and a reasonable internet connection. We cannot refund a class missed because of a problem with your own equipment or connection.
• We may change a teacher, a room or a time where we have to. We will always tell you as far in advance as we can.
• A class may be rescheduled if too few students have booked it. Your class is returned to your balance in that case.

7. Students under 18

• A parent or guardian must book, pay and provide contact details.
• Every teacher working with under-18s is Garda vetted.
• For in-person classes, a parent or guardian is responsible for dropping off and collecting the child on time.
• We may ask a parent to withdraw a child whose behaviour repeatedly prevents the group from learning. Unused classes are refunded in that case.

8. Your behaviour in class

We expect courtesy towards teachers and fellow students. We may remove, without refund, any student who is abusive, discriminatory or persistently disruptive.

9. Course materials

Materials we provide are for your personal study. They remain our property or that of their authors, and may not be copied, redistributed or resold.

10. Our liability

We provide our classes with reasonable skill and care. We do not guarantee that you will reach a particular level or pass a particular examination: that depends on your own study as well as our teaching. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to a purchase is the one published when you made it. Material changes are announced by email.

12. Complaints

Please write to keytolearnacademy@gmail.com. We acknowledge complaints within two working days and aim to resolve them within ten.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Irish law, and the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
